Overview
Camps focus on Christ’s friendship and His desire to love each of his children, as in Matthew 19:14 when said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Activities center around new experiences and adventures. Themes reinforce basic tenets of our Catholic Faith; God’s great love for us, Gratitude, God’s Mercy, Joy and stories of the saints. For students entering grades 5 and 6.
Camps begin with an invitation to the great adventure to live the virtue Faith. Jr. High Campers learn to relate experiences of friends, family and personal identity to a deeper connection with Christ. Discussions include, recognizing God’s presence, seeing ourselves through God’s eyes and the beauty of encountering God through prayer and the sacraments. For students entering grades 7 through 9.
Camps build on a teen’s sense of beginning to chart their own course. Choices and decisions are a focus, especially knowing God in a busy, noisy, fast-moving world. Campers are encouraged to express themselves in counselor-led discussions with their peers. Faithfulness in prayer, extending Mercy to others and working to be a voice for positive and Christian ideals are themes. For students entering grades 9 through 12.
