Overview

Texas Arts Project is indeed one of the more prestigious summer arts programs/camps you might want to consider for your child. The Saint Stephen's Episcopal School runs the program in Austin, Texas. There are two different kinds of summer camps specifically designed to accommodate children of varying age groups.

Junior sleep-away Camps, for ages 9 – 13, focus on singing, acting and dancing. Structured classes combined with an intense rehearsal process and a lot of fun, make the Junior Camp a wonderful experience for the young artist. Broadway style songs and dances are rehearsed and performed at the end of the session.

Texas Arts Project strives to create the “complete artist.” Junior Campers get a taste of singing, acting, and dancing. Senior Campers choose a “major” field of study, and have opportunities to engage in courses and activities in all other majors. There is an expectation that all campers try new things as they strengthen the skills in their comfort area and learn to enjoy expanding their horizons in all other areas. Individual attention along with high expectations for the group encourage personal responsibility and teamwork.
