The San Diego Model Railroad Museum offers one of the more unique summer camp programs in the area. At camp, younger kids will create a mock model railroad together with the other campers. Older students can build an actual running model railroad and use their creative skills to design the layout.
Programs are offered to students from kindergarten all the way to high school students in 9th grade. There are camp sessions that start in June and end in July. These are half-day programs that run from 9 am to 12 pm.
They offer in-person summer camps for kids in the area and virtual camps for those far out or even out of state so that parents can choose the one most suitable for their kids. With hands-on activities and the ability to carefully design and construct this project, kids can be proud of their end product.
