Overview
This summer, focus on stories that matter. Creating media that is socially responsible and highly effective, students in this four-week intensive introductory film program will gain insight into the process of collaborative content creation and an overview of media literacy. Elevate your knowledge of filmmaking from one of the best film schools in the United States.
In weeks one and two, students will be placed into working groups, receiving in-class instruction as well as hands-on lab experience for a full overview of the filmmaking process. Topics include workshops in writing, casting, directing and editing. Groups will also be assigned roles and begin pre-production work on their final film project. In week three, groups will begin production on their final film with the final week focused on editing and post-production. The program will conclude with a screening of student work for friends and family.
Students who successfully complete this program will receive college credit. Students must have completed junior year of high school by the start of summer 2026 to attend.
