Overview
For more than 50 years, kids in the Bluegrass have called Pepperhill Farm their “home away from home.” Nestled in the rolling hills of Jessamine County, it’s close enough to Lexington to be convenient for parents, but just far enough out of town for campers to get a taste country life. Pepperhill Preschool students grow into Pepperhill summer campers, then become counselors, and eventually send their own children back to the place they love. Join us this summer to make memories that will last a lifetime!
At Pepperhill, the watchword is “family.” Founded by Don and Barbara Stephens as Pepperhill Day School in 1964, three generations of the Stephens family have attended and worked here. Mr. Don and Ms. Barb applied the same principles to caring for their camp and preschool children as they used with their own three children and seven grandchildren. The result is a loving, safe, secure community of teachers and counselors that nurtures kids’ social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. As children experience a mix of directed and child-chosen activities, they learn to make good choices – developing a skill that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.
But most of all, Pepperhill campers have a whole lot of fun! From horseback riding to sing-a-longs, water games to arts and crafts, every child finds a niche while discovering new talents, learning new skills, and making friends for a lifetime. No phones. No electronics. Just good old-fashioned fun - and they will love it. Here’s just a glimpse of life at Pepperhill.
