National Computer Camp is America’s original computer camp and has been running for 45 years. They offer online camps and in-person overnight and day camps in Connecticut. NCC provides a tech curriculum that includes video game design, web design, Minecraft, Arduino programming, animation, and more. Each week, NCC provides all levels of programming in languages like Python, Basic, C++, Java, assembler, HTML, JavaScript, and Scratch.
Children can learn 2D and 3D game design to create their own unique video games while also taking courses on different coding languages. Students use their software to create a game from scratch and fill it with details, including various levels, music, characters, and much more.
Coed campers ages 6-18 can attend multiple sessions with a continuous curriculum designed for their age and skill level. Beginner to advanced-level campers are welcome. There is a morning half-day camp for kids ages 6-8. The virtual camp is similar to the in-person option, except that campers simply remain home. They also prepare high school students for the AP computer science test.
The camp is ideal for experienced and first-time campers, and an optional sports program is available. The camps are led by trained camp counselors who were former camp attendees with a passion for helping out campers.
Visit their website for more information regarding their mission, curriculum, and testimonials from others. The week-long camps start near the end of June and continue until early August. Scholarships are available.
