Overview
Founded in 1958, Lions Camp Tatiyee has been a place of hope and empowerment for special needs youth from across Arizona. Established with the vision of providing a cutting-edge, inclusive environment, the camp has evolved over the decades to become the only free summer camp in the state dedicated to enhancing the emotional and mental well-being of its campers. From its humble beginnings, LCT has grown to serve over 400 campers each summer, offering them a unique blend of adventure, education, and empowerment activities.
Camp Tatiyee works to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs by providing a life-changing summer camp experience that promotes emotional health, independence, self-esteem, and confidence, entirely free-of-charge.
Camp Tatiyee is dedicated to serving ALL members of the Arizona special needs community. Every summer we offer eight, one-week camp sessions, each dependent on the age and challenges of campers.
Campers served experience challenges such as: spinal injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, amputation, hearing impairment, sight impairment, learning disabilities, intellectual challenges, down syndrome, epilepsy, and more. The camp can also accept those needing G-tubes and catheters.
Campers can be accepted starting at age seven and can attend throughout adulthood with no age limit (with the exception of Deaf Week and Learning Disabilities Week). Camp Tatiyee is the ONLY summer camp to serve the special needs community entirely free-of-charge.
