Overview
For over 100 summers, Cheley has been a home away from home for campers seeking meaningful experiences in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. It’s a place where campers embrace challenges, celebrate personal growth, and return year after year to reconnect with friends and the traditions that make Cheley unforgettable.
Nestled in the Estes Park Valley, just 75 miles northwest of Denver. Positioned at the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest, and the Indian Peaks Wilderness, our camp is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and indigenous pine forests, creating a scenic panorama that rivals any mountainous region worldwide. Awaking to views of some of the world’s most picturesque peaks, our camp offers an unparalleled summer experience in the heart of the Colorado mountains.
At Cheley, camp isn’t just a destination—it’s an experience that stays with you long after summer ends. Here, you’ll Disconnect to Really Connect. You’ll challenge yourself, cheer others on, and make memories you’ll carry with you for a lifetime. Whether you’re trekking up a mountain, cantering around the riding ring, or cheering on a fellow mountain biker, every moment at camp shapes who you are.
The Cheley family has been dedicated to Cheley Colorado Camps since its founding in 1921. Jeff Cheley and Brooke Cheley-Klebe, the two oldest members of the current generation in charge, take tremendous pride in running camp. This family commitment ensures continuity, integrity, and a deep understanding of the camp experience. As co-directors, this brother-sister team combines their talents and strengths to provide a wide range of skills and insights for camp guidance, while remaining true to their great-grandfather’s vision and values.
