Camp Tawonga

Overview

With 100 years of experience bringing children into nature to discover the outdoors, their Jewish identity, a warm community and their best selves, no summer is complete without a summer session at Camp Tawonga! Our traditional summer camp sessions are available for campers ranging from entering 2nd through 10th grades and include a wide range of activities in a group-centered environment. Read below for details on each of our summer camp sessions.

We employ a group-centered approach to summer camping, giving campers the opportunity to choose and experience activities together, rather than focusing on individual skills. While campers in our longer sessions participate in electives or optional day hikes, the majority of each day is spent traveling from one activity area to another as a cohesive bunk. This gives each camper the opportunity to participate in activities they love while being exposed to activities they might not otherwise choose.

Yosemite-based programs include classic one to three week summer camp sessions and skill-building teen leadership offerings. Our adventure Quests offer epic wilderness explorations on the road. All programs are run by Tawonga’s renowned and dedicated staff.
